(Dân trí) – Masan Consumer Joint Stock Company collaborates with government ministries, the People’s Committee, and local farmers in Ly Son Island to promote Ly Son garlic and bring Nam Ngu Chilli Ly Son Garlic Fish Sauce to consumers.

At the Ly Son Garlic Promotion Ceremony on August 17, alongside representatives from the local farmers of Ly Son Island, there were officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People’s Committee of Ly Son District, and the Nam Ngu brand under Masan Consumer Corporation, all committed to collaborating in the promotion of Ly Son garlic to reach broader markets both domestically and internationally.

The promotion ceremony to elevate the specialty of Ly Son garlic was successfully held, featuring many impressive moments.

Ly Son garlic is renowned for its fragrant aroma, spicy yet sweet flavor, small white bulbs, and uniform cloves. The essential oil content in Ly Son garlic is quite high, making it a favored choice among consumers for use as a seasoning and a valuable medicinal ingredient in healthcare. This type of garlic currently commands a price that is three to four times higher than that of regular garlic, highlighting the value this local specialty brings.

Nam Ngu signed a long-term supply agreement with the People’s Committee and farmers of Ly Son Island in July 2023 to process Nam Ngu Ly Son Garlic Chili Sauce, contributing to ensuring market access for this specialty and supporting local economic development.

On behalf of the local leadership, Mrs. Pham Thi Huong – Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Ly Son Island – stated: “Nam Ngu has contributed to continuing the journey of elevating this specialty, spreading awareness, and creating development opportunities for the garlic cultivation industry in Ly Son, thereby promoting local economic growth and working alongside farmers to bring the Ly Son garlic brand across Vietnam and to the world.”

Mrs. Pham Thi Huong – Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Ly Son Island – expressed her appreciation for the cooperation and concern shown by Masan Consumer towards the livelihoods of farmers and the local specialty.

On behalf of the farmers, Mr. Le Hoai An – Chairman of the Ly Son Farmers’ Association – expressed: “Since Nam Ngu has come on board, the value of Ly Son garlic has remained stable and has been elevated. We hope that Nam Ngu’s support in processing garlic will contribute to providing higher quality meals for the Vietnamese people.”

Also at the event, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Cuong – Director of the Crop Production Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development – affirmed: “With over 5 million bottles of Nam Ngu Ly Son Garlic Chili Sauce sold over the past year, I believe that millions of Vietnamese families have had the opportunity to enjoy the flavor of Ly Son garlic in their meals. This not only brings economic value to garlic farmers but also contributes to promoting the image of Vietnamese cuisine.”
