<p>(AP) Over nearly three decades, Masan Consumer has built one of Vietnam’s most extensive FMCG brand ecosystems. According to Kantar Worldpanel, 98% of Vietnamese households use at least one Masan Consumer product. The Company leads approximately 80% of core seasonings and convenience food categories, including fish sauce, soy sauce, chili sauce, instant noodles, instant coffee, and coffee-flavored energy drinks.</p>
<p>From 2017 to 2024, the Company achieved a revenue CAGR of approximately 13%, while maintaining operating profit margins above 23% despite macro volatility. During 2022–2024, net profit continued to compound at roughly 20% per year, underscoring the Company’s strengthening earnings power. Sustained financial performance across multiple cycles has positioned Masan Consumer among Southeast Asia’s leading FMCG companies, comparable to regional peers that consistently deliver double-digit revenue CAGR and net profit margins above 20%.</p>

In specific, premiumization has emerged as a defining trend in Vietnam’s FMCG industry. Masan Consumer has led this transformation by expanding consumption occasions and enhancing value propositions across categories. CHIN-SU (Seasonings Category), the brand has evolved from traditional dipping sauces to a full cooking solution portfolio, including marinades, cooking sauces, and integrated meal-prep products &#8211; significantly increasing household penetration and market size. <p>Five power brands—CHIN-SU, Nam Ngu, Omachi, Kokomi, Wake-Up 247—each generate over US$100 million in annual revenue, collectively contributing ~70% of incremental topline growth. Core innovations typically reach Top-3 market share within two years, far outpacing industry norms, reflecting Masan Consumer’s deep consumer insight and nationwide distribution strength. <p>A new feature of this year’s festival is the “Digital Interaction Corner”, helping visitors easily look up information, view the event map, explore national specialities, and engage in modern multimedia experiences. Alongside this is a creative programme series featuring “Borderless Culinary Diary”, “Fashion Food Show”, “Global Beer Fest”, and thematic areas such as “ASEAN Common Home”, “Global Culinary Avenue”, and “Three Regions of Viet Nam”.</p>
<p>Le Nguyet Anh, spouse of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, affirmed that the festival provides an opportunity for nations to exchange, understand, and learn from each other about culture, thereby nurturing understanding and respect for differences and together moving towards a peaceful world.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Hoang Thu Nga said that this year’s event is divided into clearly themed areas. The ASEAN Zone, covering 11 countries, is arranged as the “Southeast Asian Culinary Journey,” other embassies are located on the “Global Culinary Avenue,” and the local Foreign Affairs Departments and partner enterprises are interspersed, creating a seamless journey of experience.</p>

<p><span dir="auto">The result places Masan Consumer ahead of the Vietnamese companies with ESG scores recognised by S&amp;P Global, and surpasses more than 85 per cent of FMCG companies rated worldwide.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">According to the ranking report, Masan Consumer scored 51 points in the governance and economic dimension pillar, outperforming 88 per cent of FMCG companies evaluated globally. In the other two pillars, environment and society, the company achieved 47 points in each, surpassing 80 per cent and 85 per cent of global FMCG peers, respectively.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">The consistently high scores across all three pillars highlight Masan Consumer&#8217;s comprehensive sustainable development model, one that focuses on business performance and emphasises transparent governance, environmental protection, and corporate social responsibility. This achievement stands as a strong testament to Masan Consumer&#8217;s philosophy of “Doing Well by Doing Good”, fostering sustainable development through creating positive value for the community and society.</span></p>
<h2><strong><span dir="auto">From green manufacturing to sustainable people practices</span></strong></h2>
<p><span dir="auto">2024 marked an important milestone in Masan Consumer&#8217;s sustainable development journey, when the company adopted a slew of initiatives to reduce emissions and protect the environment. Masan Consumer has converted 65 per cent of its consumed energy to renewable sources while achieving an 18 per cent reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2023.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Solar panel projects have been installed across factories. All diesel forklifts have been replaced with electric models. Over 80 per cent of waste is treated or recycled. <p><span dir="auto">In parallel with the emissions reduction target, Masan Consumer pioneers in innovating its packaging design in line with circular economy principles, prioritising the use of environmentally friendly materials and reducing plastic waste. From 2023-2024, the company conducted an experiment to reduce the weight of plastic preforms for each bottle product. The company has increased the use of recycled PET (rPET) while still meeting quality standards for storage, transportation, and preservation.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Additionally, Masan Consumer has eliminated the use of PE film for pellet wrapping, resulting in a reduction of plastic waste equivalent to 21,853 kg per year. This initiative also generated annual savings of VND659 million ($25,000) and reduced its emissions by equivalent to 129.15 tonnes of carbon.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Another underlying factor behind Masan Consumer&#8217;s sustainable development is its international-compliant manufacturing system. The company&#8217;s 13 manufacturing plants are certified with safety, environmental, and energy standards such as FSSC 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14064.</span></p>

<article>Trước đó, năm 2023 – 2024, Masan Consumer đã được trao tặng danh hiệu “Thương hiệu vàng TP HCM”. Mang tầm nhìn “Trở thành niềm tự hào của Việt Nam với sự tin yêu của người tiêu dùng”, trong suốt hơn 29 năm qua, Masan không ngừng đổi mới, đáp ứng nhu cầu của người tiêu dùng Việt. <p class="Normal">Bên cạnh đó, năm 2024, doanh nghiệp đã giới thiệu nhiều sản phẩm mới như lẩu tự sôi, cơm tự chín, lẩu cầm tay… đáp ứng xu hướng tiêu dùng hiện đại, vừa tiện lợi vừa đảm bảo dinh dưỡng. Chiến lược cao cấp hóa này đã giúp ngành thực phẩm tiện lợi của doanh nghiệp năm 2024 tăng trưởng 8,4% và ngành gia vị tăng 7,2% so với năm trước.</p>
<p class="Normal">Với chiến lược Go Global – mang tinh hoa ẩm thực Việt đến với toàn cầu, Masan Consumer tích cực tham gia các hội chợ quốc tế như Seoul Food 2024 (Hàn Quốc) hay Foodex 2024 (Nhật Bản). Doanh nghiệp còn quảng bá sản phẩm trên các bảng quảng cáo ngoài trời tại Nhật Bản, Hàn Quốc…</p>

<p>Chương trình bình chọn 50 doanh nghiệp – đơn vị tiêu biểu có thương hiệu và sản phẩm chủ lực của TP HCM được tổ chức cho các doanh nghiệp, đơn vị có trụ sở chính tại TP HCM, được thành lập tối thiểu 10 năm đối với lĩnh vực công nghiệp và dịch vụ, 5 năm đối với lĩnh vực nông nghiệp. Các ứng viên đều do Sở, ban ngành và các tổ chức hội ngành nghề giới thiệu, đề cử. Ban tổ chức yêu cầu các doanh nghiệp và đơn vị phải có thương hiệu và sản phẩm với chất lượng vượt trội, có độ nhận diện cao, được người tiêu dùng yêu thích; có sức cạnh tranh cao trên thị trường; thân thiện môi trường, phù hợp với xu hướng phát triển xanh, bền vững; tạo ra mức tăng trưởng cao, ổn định; gắn bó với quá trình hình thành và phát triển của thành phố và có đóng góp tích cực vào sự phát triển kinh tế, văn hóa, xã hội của thành phố.</p>

<p>Ly Son garlic is renowned for its fragrant aroma, spicy yet sweet flavor, small white bulbs, and uniform cloves. The essential oil content in Ly Son garlic is quite high, making it a favored choice among consumers for use as a seasoning and a valuable medicinal ingredient in healthcare. This type of garlic currently commands a price that is three to four times higher than that of regular garlic, highlighting the value this local specialty brings.</p>
<p>Nam Ngu signed a long-term supply agreement with the People&#8217;s Committee and farmers of Ly Son Island in July 2023 to process Nam Ngu Ly Son Garlic Chili Sauce, contributing to ensuring market access for this specialty and supporting local economic development.</p>
<p>On behalf of the local leadership, Mrs. Pham Thi Huong &#8211; Chairwoman of the People&#8217;s Committee of Ly Son Island &#8211; stated: &#8220;Nam Ngu has contributed to continuing the journey of elevating this specialty, spreading awareness, and creating development opportunities for the garlic cultivation industry in Ly Son, thereby promoting local economic growth and working alongside farmers to bring the Ly Son garlic brand across Vietnam and to the world.&#8221; </p>

<p>For the first time, the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation Trust has directly acquired shares in a Vietnamese company. The trust, managed by billionaire Bill Gates, now holds over 1 million shares of Masan Consumer (MCH), representing more than 0.14% of the company’s capital.</p>
<p>Recently, Masan Consumer announced the results of a vote regarding additional dividend payments for 2023. A remarkable 97.3% of shareholders approved the plan to pay a cash dividend of 168%, equivalent to VND 16,800 per share.</p>
<p>Among the shareholders, the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation Trust stands out, currently holding over 1.04 million shares, valued at approximately VND 212 billion. This makes the trust the 11th largest shareholder in the company. With the new dividend plan, the trust is expected to receive nearly VND 17.5 billion, adding to the VND 10.4 billion already received from previous dividend payments in 2023, bringing the total to nearly VND 28 billion.</p>

<p>Historically, the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation Trust has indirectly invested in Vietnam through the Vietnam Enterprise Investments Limited (VEIL) fund, which is managed by Dragon Capital. By mid-2023, the trust was the second-largest shareholder in VEIL, with nearly 24.7 million fund certificates. However, the trust had never held direct shares in a Vietnamese company before now.</p>
<p>Interestingly, despite its increasing presence in Vietnam, the trust has reduced its exposure to global technology giants. In the fourth quarter of 2023, it sold off its shares in major tech companies like Apple, Meta, Alphabet, Amazon, and Nvidia, as well as other prominent names such as Walt Disney, Morgan Stanley, Johnson &amp; Johnson, and Unilever.</p>
<p>Masan Consumer, known for its robust growth, is set to distribute an additional VND 12,000 billion in dividends this year. This move comes ahead of the company’s expected transfer from UPCoM to HoSE in early 2024. The company’s strong financial performance, with a record profit of VND 7,195 billion in 2023, has enabled these significant payouts.</p>
<p>In the first half of 2024, Masan Consumer recorded VND 13,968 billion in revenue, an increase of 11.6%, with a gross profit margin of 46.5%. Pre-tax profit reached VND 3,923 billion, while after-tax profit amounted to VND 3,458 billion, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 14.6% and 13.4%, respectively.</p>
<p>Masan Consumer has ambitious goals for 2024, targeting net revenue of VND 31,500 to 34,500 billion and after-tax profit of VND 7,300 to 7,500 billion. By mid-year, the company had achieved over 40% of its revenue goal and nearly 47% of its profit target.</p>
<p>CEO Truong Cong Thang highlighted the company’s strategy to dominate both domestic and global markets by growing its six billion-dollar brands and expanding its product portfolio to cater to consumers both at home and abroad. Key brands like Kokomi, Omachi, Chinsu, Nam Ngu, and Wakeup 24/7, which contribute significantly to Masan Group’s overall revenue, are expected to play pivotal roles in this growth.</p>
<p>Since the beginning of 2024, MCH shares have more than doubled in value, now exceeding VND 200,000 per share, giving Masan Consumer a market capitalization of approximately VND 147,600 billion (USD 5.9 billion).</p>

<p>Masan Consumer, a subsidiary of the Masan Group controlled by billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang, plans to move its stock listing from Upcom to the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) by 2025.</p>
<p>The decision is expected to mark a significant milestone for the company, expanding its reach to both domestic and international investors.</p>
<p>The Masan Consumer Corporation (MCH) announced on October 2 that it would transfer its stock listing from the Upcom system to the HoSE by 2025.</p>
<p>The company has selected Vietcap Securities Corporation as its listing advisor for this transition.</p>
<p>Masan Consumer, a leader in Vietnam&#8217;s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, is expected to benefit from the broader investor base on the HoSE.</p>
<p>It currently operates seven fully owned subsidiaries, including Masan Food, Masan Beverage, and Masan Consumer Limited in Thailand.</p>
<p>MCH’s decision to move to the HoSE is anticipated to be a game-changer, enhancing its visibility among both domestic and foreign investors.</p>
<p>This move comes as MCH’s stock value has recently reached record highs, with shares trading at approximately VND 200,000 ($8.20) each.</p>
<p>As of the beginning of this year, MCH&#8217;s stock price has doubled, bringing substantial returns to shareholders.</p>
<p>The Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation Trust, one of MCH&#8217;s notable shareholders, holds over 1 million shares valued at approximately VND 210 billion ($8.6 million).</p>
<p>The trust is set to receive dividends from MCH, including a 168% payout in 2023, translating to VND 16,800 per share.</p>
<p>Masan Consumer plans to disburse an additional VND 12.2 trillion ($500 million) in dividends for 2023, with payments commencing on October 4.</p>
<p>In the first half of 2024, MCH reported net revenue of nearly VND 14 trillion ($576 million), a 12% increase year-on-year, with net profit rising 13% to over VND 3.4 trillion ($140 million).</p>
<p>MCH’s market capitalization at times surpasses that of Vinamilk, making it the largest company in Vietnam’s food and beverage sector.</p>
<p>The consumer sector in Vietnam is expected to see strong growth, driven by economic recovery and increased demand, as well as government policies, such as the reduction of value-added tax (VAT) by 2%.</p>
<p>Masan Consumer aims to expand its current 5% market share in the FMCG sector, valued at $32 billion, and increase its global presence through e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Coupang.</p>
<p>On October 2, MCH shares dipped slightly by VND 1,100 to VND 195,400 per share, as Vietnam’s stock market faced selling pressure. The VN-Index fell 2.82 points to 1,289.38 by the end of the morning session.</p>
